PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
PARENTING AND PARENTING GROUPS
As a parent of children with autism, ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia; I have first hand experience of supporting children through the education system and can empathise with families in a similar situation.
MAINSTREAM SCHOOLS
Teaching classes at primary and secondary level. Taking responsibility for students with ASCs and Communication Difficulties, throughout the school.
Training Teachers in adapting environments and teaching practice to suit learners with ASCs.
SPECIALÂ EDUCATION SETTINGS
Teaching classes of pupils with diagnosis of ASCs from 4 years to 19 years. Leading the development of an Autism friendly literacy curriculum.
Training teachers in pedagogies to support literacy and communication progress.
RESEARCH ENGAGEMENT
I am an active member of PLASN - R (Pan London Autism Schools Network for Research, run by CRAE), promoting engagement with research that benefit the lives of people with ASCs and their families. I am also a member of their literacy leaders forum which promotes best practice in literacy and communication among Special Schools.
